बड़ी उम्रवाले बहुत कम हैं

आज हमारे घर छह-सात लोग आये, जिनमें एक अधिकारी, एक वीडियोग्राफर और एक पुलिसकर्मी शामिल थे. भवन प्रबंधक उन्हें लाया!

समस्या क्या है? मैं अब 85 वर्ष का हूं, इसलिए मेरा नाम घर से मतदान करने वालों की सूची में है। मुझे निशान लगाने के लिए एक मतपत्र दिया गया। टीम में से एक मेरे लिए एक बड़ा  कार्डबोर्ड शील्ड लेकर आया। यह इसलिए था कि जब मैं अपने मतपत्र पर निशान लगाऊँ तो अन्य लोग यह नहीं देख सके कि मैं क्या कर रहा था। मैंने अपने मतपत्र पर ✔ निशान लगाया।अधिकारी ने इसे एक कवर में रखने और इसे सील करने में मेरी मदद की। दूसरा आदमी एक बड़ा टिन का ट्रंक लाया, जिसमें अंत में मैंने अपना मतपत्र डाला। फिर एक अन्य व्यक्ति ने मेरी बायीं तर्जनी पर अमिट स्याही लगा दी। इस बीच, वीडियोग्राफर ने जो कुछ हो रहा था उसे रिकॉर्ड कर लिया। अधिकारी ने कहा कि वे टीवी चैनलों के लिए कुछ चुनिंदा वीडियो-क्लिप जारी कर सकते हैं।

टीम के जाने के बाद, मैं अपनी बहन के साथ फोन पर था और जो कुछ हुआ था उसकी रिपोर्ट साझा की। वह इस बात से हैरान थीं कि चुनाव आयोग ऐसा कर रहा है. वे कैसे प्रबंधन कर सकते हैं? उन्होंने कहा, "बड़ी संख्या में ऐसे लोग होंगे जो 85 वर्ष या उससे अधिक उम्र के होंगे।" मैंने आँकड़े देखे। 2011 की जनगणना के अनुसार, 85 या उससे अधिक उम्र वालों की कोई बड़ी संख्या नहीं थी। वे लगभग 270 में से केवल एक था!  नीचे विवरण पढ़ें. अपनी तबीयत का ख्याल रखे!

People 85 or Above Are Very Few

Today six or seven people came to our house, including an officer, a videographer and a policeman. The building manager brought them!

What's the problem? I am now 85 years old, so my name is on the list of those who can vote from home. I was given a ballot paper to mark. One of the team brought me a big cardboard shield. Because of this when I marked my ballot, other people could not see what I was doing. I marked ✔ on my ballot.

The officer helped me put it in a cover and seal it.  Another man brought a large tin trunk, into which I finally put my ballot paper. Yet another person put indelible ink on my left index finger. Meanwhile, the videographer recorded what was happening. The official said they may release some selected video clips for TV channels.

After the team left, I was on the phone with my sister, sharing reports of what had happened. She was surprised that the Election Commission was doing this. How can they manage? "There will be a large number of people who will be 85 or older," she said. I looked at the statistics. As of the 2011 census, there were no large numbers of people aged 85 or older.
